Silver Spoon Restaurant in Durham

Food was great! Everyone in the restaurant spoke to me making me feel as if I was a regular with my picture on the wall. I left a $20 tip this doubled my food cost simply because of the service. The foos was fast and delicious. This was a pleasant suprise, great job guys.

Food is excellent, down home style cooking. Staff is attentive. Place is very basic dated seating size dont expect the Ritz.

I enjoyed an absolutely delicious dinner this evening. The Country Style Steak with a side of cabbage and rice was wonderful.

The lasagna was so basic!. And watery I mean I'm very disappointed for 9 bucks it wasnt alot at all.. Maybe there breakfast is different. And the garlic bread tasted old. Nomore pasta from this place.There nice people tho😅 I'll be trying there breakfast very soon.

Food is really good here and staff very pleasant, always good customer service! Only took one star away due to the condition and cleanliness of the restrooms.

I will admit that I drove by this restaurant for years and never bothered to check it out until recently. The outside/inside of the building looks kinda dated/needs some work so at first glance I probably would go somewhere else to eat.I finally got around one morning to try it with my husband for breakfast. And it was actually great! Good food and good staff! They obviously have people that are regulars and the staff would greet those people personally as if they were family. It is a great unknown mom and pop breakfast/diner restaurant. Ever since we tried it that one weekend we have gone there at least once every weekend since! Friendly people and good breakfast food!

As usual, my blueberry pancakes were on point. Along with bacon and two over easy eggs, that's all I really get when I go and they continue to be consistent. Waitresses are still friendly and seasoned ones are always seen helping the newbies. This is a great place to go during the weekday mornings by yourself to have some Me-time. Only suggestion: add a dark roast coffee. You can drink the coffee without cream or sugar. The pancakes and desserts would really be good with a richer blend.

The friendly staff treats you like a person and always remember your needs. Real food that is delicious, done quick, or you can take your time. Special Mediterranean days are my favorite.

Great diner-style restaurant. Excellent family atmosphere--don't have to worry about our toddler either making a mess or refusing the food, the staff are all accommodating and kind, and it's a comfortable atmosphere. We live for all-day breakfast, so we've only had breakfast menu items, but they're always good. Toddler gobbled down a kid's cheese omelette, husband had the bacon Benedict (which, as a big eggs-benny fan, he loved), and I had a perfectly textured and delicious Denver scramble. If you're looking for a relaxed, unfussy, and yummy spot away from downtown hubbub, Silver Spoon is an excellent choice.

A local favorite a friend introduced me to a few years ago. I love the family feel, quick service, fresh food and coffee in your own carafe. They have an extensive menu with lots of specials and desserts.

Good food and service. The coffee is usually really good, but occasionally tastes stale. All in all a great meal for the money.

It's amazing I've been in Durham my whole life and never took the time to eat here. There is noting like a family owned food restaurant with great food. This breakfast, lunch and dinner spot is just that, the food was great the staff are friendly and the food prices are very reasonable. I definitely recommend anybody to go here if you like that southern hospitality feel with a family filled environment. I will definitely will be back with friends in the future.

Outstanding food and service! Everything is fresh’ made to order, but doesn’t take forever to come out! Traditional American fare and huge menu! You got to get the fried green tomatoes! Lunch today blessed my life! Corn beef hash was excellent too!

Unassuming, no-frills diner food. I went on a Sunday and it was packed, but no wait whatsoever. The staff was very attentive and sweet, and the food was awesome! Giant portions. Certainly not a "hip" or experimental breakfast place, but that's what makes it awesome. It's just straight-up diner food.

Service 5/5. Staff was friendly and quick to assist us. Never had to wait on refills and the food was fairly fast to receive, especially for a busy Sunday lunch hour.Price 3/5. Good, decent prices. However the "to-go" cups for dessert cut your homeward bound cobbler in half. $3.99 for less than a half a cup of Apple Cobbler? Sad. I'll never get dessert from them again now.Cleanliness 3/5. Flies were all inside the restaurant, as if they had a door or window propped open somewhere. Condiments were sticky (bottle of hot sauce/tartar sauce/cocktail sauce) and need to be wiped off.Quality 4/5. The food is alright. Fried stuff mostly. The Fried Green Tomatoes could use seasoning.

I avoided this place because of how it looks from the street. That was a mistake!You don't go here for fine dining, you go for simple. Simple dining. Do you want food you recognize? Are you the type of person that feels relief when you understand everything on the menu? Are you down-to-Earth enough that the atmosphere is secondary to the food? Then you need to go here. You won't pay a lot and you will get a lot. It all tastes good and the wait staff are the kind of folks that see you as people and not as tip-machines. Go there wearing whatever you want. Bring a close friend or your family and leave the snobs at home. And yes, the sign for the restaurant looks cheap and the building is an old Pizza Hut. Don't be fooled. Remember, this isn't fine dining, it's simple dining. Go here for good food that you will devour.

This place is incredible! A friend brought me here for breakfast recently and I absolutely love it! The atmosphere is so homey and comfortable, and the staff is so kind and welcoming. And the FOOD! Get one of the skillets, I'm telling you. It was absolutely delicious!

This is a good place for breakfast and brunch. The menu is quite extensive and you are sure to find something you'll like. Two of the best things I've tried are the salmon cakes and the banana nut pancakes. Both are cooked to perfection and are very tasty. This place is very affordable and is family-friendly.

I was there just few days ago , stay for about 2 hours . i can tell you that that place is a peaceful place to be at. Very friendly very social . i sow alot of peaple coming in an out and all with smile in there faces . the owner was very friendly . the place very clean .
